: "Boda of Doom: Cheetahs, Chaos, and the Last Drop"

Final Chapter: “The Race Against Dawn”

The creature outside didn't flinch.

Didn't speak.

Didn't blink

It just pointed out.

"We're dead," Julius whispered.

"No we're not," Marvin snapped. "Not if we move. Now."

They grabbed the boda, still chained and locked, dragging it like two desperate prisoners trying to escape. Marvin cut the chain with a crowbar—CLANG!—and they rolled the bike out into the night, hearts hammering.

The creature took a step closer.

Its claws clicked on the stones.

His breath steamed the cold air.

No time.

Julius threw the necklace into his pocket and jumped on the bike. Marvin kicked the starter.

First time—dead.

Second time—cough, sputter—dead again.

The creature moved faster now, limbs bending backwards and sideways like a marionette gone wrong.

Marvin screamed and kicked a third time.

VROOOOOOOM!

The boda roared to life.

They took off into the night, dust swirling like ghost smoke behind them.

---

The chase was on.

The dirt road twisted and curved. The moon dipped behind the clouds. Their only guide was a tiny, broken GPS screen blinking "LOW BATTERY."

Behind them, the Nyokoto creature sprinted on all fours—fast. Faster than any man. Maybe faster than a real cheetah.

"WE'RE NOT GONNA OUTRUN IT!" Julius howled.

"WE DON'T HAVE TO!" Marvin yelled back. "WE JUST HAVE TO OUTSMART IT!"

Up ahead—the same wildlife corridor. The cheetah circle.

"If we get back to the sacred ground," Marvin said, "we can return the necklace and end this!"

---

Minutes later...

They reached the clearing where the acacia tree stood.

The ground shimmered—almost as if the earth itself remembered the ceremony they had disturbed.

Marvin skidded the bike sideways and they jumped off, sprinting towards the center.

Julius dug into his pocket, fumbling for the necklace—

But it wasn't thew

"WHERE IS IT?!" Marvin screamed.

They looked back—

The necklace had slipped out and snagged on the boda's handlebars again.

And the creature…

was already standing over it.

Grinning.

No mouth. But still grinning.

---

The final gamble.

Marvin grabbed a branch, lit it with a match—a weak, sputtering flame. Not much. But maybe enough.

He ran straight at the creature.

The Nyokoto hissed—a sound that didn't belong to this world—and lunged.

Marvin dodged at the last second, grabbed the necklace, and hurled it with everything he had towards the cheetah circle.

It landed perfectly at the base of the acacia tree.

For one awful second—nothing happened.

Then the earth trembled.

The wind howled.

A beam of moonlight speared through the clouds and lit up the necklace.

The creature stopped. Mid-stride. Twitching.

And then... it dissolved into mist.

Gone.

The necklace shimmered for a moment, then turned to dust, carried away by the wind.

Epilogue:

Weeks later, Marvin and Julius sat outside a roadside café, sipping cheap sodas.

"You realize we basically outran a demon cheetah spirit because of a cursed shortcut," Julius said.

Marvin nodded. "Yeah. Adventure, bro."

Julius raised his soda. "To never take shortcuts again."

They clinked bottles.

From the hills beyond, a real cheetah's roar echoed faintly.

They froze.

Then both burst out laughing.

"Not today, cheetah!" Julius shouted.

And they rode off into the sunset—this time with a full tank of fuel... and no mysterious necklaces.

THE END.
